  • What is the Respect Line?

The Respect Line is an out-of-hours service that allows Housing Solutions residents to report anti-social behaviour when our offices are closed. Calls are handled by trained professionals who can record incidents, provide advice and ensure information is passed to Housing Solutions for follow-up.

  • When can I use the Respect Line?

The Respect Line is available when Housing Solutions offices are closed, including evenings, weekends and bank holidays.

  • What types of incidents can I report?

You can use the Respect Line to report anti-social behaviour, including:

    • Noise nuisance
    • Harassment or intimidation
    • Neighbour disputes
    • Other forms of anti-social behaviour affecting you or your community

If you're unsure whether something is anti-social behaviour, you can still contact the service for advice.

  • What happens when I make a report?

A Respect Line adviser will listen to your concerns and record details of the incident. Information from your report will then be passed to Housing Solutions on the next working day so that the appropriate team can review it and decide on any next steps.

  • Will Housing Solutions still deal with my report?

Yes. The Respect Line does not replace Housing Solutions' anti-social behaviour service. It provides support when our offices are closed and shares information with us so that we can investigate and take any appropriate action.

  • Why should I report incidents when they happen?

Reporting incidents when they happen helps create a more accurate record of events. This can help Housing Solutions better understand what is taking place and support any investigation or action that may be required.

  • Can I make an anonymous report?

Housing Solutions can accept anonymous reports of anti-social behaviour in line with our existing approach. However, providing your details may help us investigate the issue more effectively.

  • Is the Respect Line an emergency service?

No. The Respect Line is not an emergency service.
If someone is in immediate danger, a crime is taking place, or urgent assistance is required, you should call 999.
For non-emergency police matters, call 101.

  • Can the Respect Line contact other agencies?

Where appropriate, the Respect Line may help signpost residents to relevant support services and, if necessary, contact agencies such as the police or welfare support services.

  • Is there a charge for using the Respect Line?

No. The Respect Line is available to Housing Solutions residents as part of the services we provide.

  • How do I access the Respect Line?

If you need to report anti-social behaviour outside our normal opening hours, call our out-of-hours service on 01628 543101 and select the anti-social behaviour option from the telephone menu. You will then be connected to the Respect Line.

  • What if I experience anti-social behaviour during office hours?

If Housing Solutions is open, please contact us through our usual channels. The Respect Line is intended to provide support when our offices are closed.
