Sexual Abuse
Domestic abuse as an incident or pattern of incidents of controlling, coercive, threatening, degrading and violent behaviour, including sexual violence, in the majority of cases by a partner or ex-partner, but also by a family member or carer. Sadly, it is very common. Womens Aid provides information about commonly asked questions about sexual abuse and domestic violence.
If you are suffering from domestic abuse please talk to your Housing Officer in confidence. We also work closely with several agencies who will also offer support and advice.

Safeguarding
Safeguarding means protecting an adult’s right to live in safety, free from abuse and neglect. For children and young people, safeguarding means promoting their welfare, preventing impairment of their health and development, and ensuring that they grow up in circumstances consistent with the provision of safe and effective care.
Sadly, there are many different types and patterns of abuse and neglect. Abuse may be:

- Financial or material
- Organisational abuse
- Discriminatory abuse
- Domestic violence
- Modern slavery
- Psychological abuse or online abuse
- Self neglect
- Neglect and acts of omission
- Hate crime
How to Report a Safeguarding Issue
Safeguarding aims to stop abuse or neglect wherever possible and to support our residents to make choices and have control over how they want to live.
