Want to move home?
There are several ways customers can move home within Housing Solutions, to other local authorities and housing associations in this area, and across the country.
This online Mutual Exchange Register is for customers who want to exchange homes with other customers within the Association. Any resident can go onto the register. When you have found a property that you would like to consider an exchange with you should contact the resident directly to discuss whether they would be interested in a mutual exchange. Once you have agreed upon a mutual exchange you must contact your Tenancy and Neighbourhood Officer who will guide you through the process. We will not unreasonably withhold consent for an exchange, however, possible grounds for refusal could be:
- Rent arrears on either of the properties being exchanged
- Legal action being taken against either resident as a result of a breach of their tenancy
- If one of the property's has been inspected and felt to be in an unsatisfactory condition
- Housing Solutions policy has recently changed and we no longer allow ‘plus one’. This means that that customers will not be given consent to exchange when they will be under occupying by having one bedroom more than they need by exchanging properties.
