Housing Solutions are proud of the partnership working that we do with other external organisations and work hard to achieve good results for our customers when we work together.
Today we have worked closely in partnership with Thames Valley Police and have supported them in securing a partial closure order on one of our properties. This means that no one is allowed to enter the premises other than the tenant, Thames Valley Police, any medical professional or any staff from Housing Solutions. This is in place for 3 months.
After complaints were received and police attendance to the property it was deemed that we needed to take action to stop the anti social behaviour that was occurring and quickly. We worked with Thames Valley Police to gain the closure order under the new tools and powers for anti social behaviour.
This is an excellent result for us as and the residents as this is our first closure order and shows the good partnership working to achieve this. It also means that the other customers who have been experiencing anti social behaviour are no longer subject to this and can once again enjoy their homes. It also shows residents of Housing Solutions that causing anti social behaviour will not be tolerated and we will take robust action to stop this.
A closure order is used when:
- A person has engaged or is likely to engage in disorderly, offensive or criminal behaviour on the premises; or
- The use of the premises has resulted in or is likely to result in serious nuisance to members of the public; or
- There has been or is likely to have been disorder near to or associated with the premises and the Order is necessary to prevent the behaviour, nuisance or disorder from continuing, recurring or occurring.
