Keeping You & Your Home Warm
Wednesday, February 08, 2012

If your heating or hot water is not working, please call us on 0800 876 6060.

Try to keep your home at a constant temperature, during cold spells.

Set your thermostat at around 21°C (70°F) and heat all the rooms you use in the day

  •  If you can't heat all your rooms make sure you keep your living room warm throughout the day and heat your bedroom before going to bed
  • Set the timer on your heating to come on before you get up and switch off when you go to bed
  • In very cold weather, rather than turning the thermostat up, put the heating on permanent to keep your home at a constant temperature

Here's a checklist of things that you can do to stay warm.

  • Ensure the heating is turned on
  • Stay indoors
  • Make sure you have extra blankets close to hand
  • Drink plenty of hot drinks
  • Wear several layers of clothes
  • Eat hot meals regularly
  • Stay in touch with someone outside your home
  • Keep emergency phone numbers to hand
  • Ask someone to do your shopping
  • Ask someone to keep your pathways clear

£5 in vouchers for your thoughts?
Thursday, February 02, 2012

We are always looking for ways to do things better, and we know that the best way to do that is to ask you what you think!

We are asking all residents to fill in a short survey which covers all the main areas of our service and will help us plan our next round of improvements. But we're not all about 'ticking boxes' so we've also included plenty of space for you to tell us what your really think.

So whether it's good or bad, we want to hear from you! Completing the survey should only take you 5 to 10 minutes. And if you complete it online, we will pop a £5 'Love2Shop' voucher in the post for you.

Just follow the link and let us know what you think: www.housingsolutions.co.uk/haveyoursay2012

Bogus Workers Warning
Thursday, February 02, 2012

Residents should always check identity cards of any workers who call at their home, claiming to be from Housing Solutions.

The warning comes after two main gained access to an elderly resident's property in Maidenhead by saying they were contractors for Housing Solutions.

The men looked round the property and then left. Please check the identity cards of any workers, before you let them into your home.

As an extra security check residents can also call us on 0800 876 6060 to verify the identity of any of our staff or contractors.
